More specifically, this award is interested in theoretical and practical contributions, including:

• Economics,
• Sociology, anthropology and psychology,
• Political science, law and management techniques,
• History, archaeology and geography.

It rewards each year n theses or unpublished works, in French language or delivered by a French-speaking university, related to these fields (economy, sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, law and management techniques, history, archaeology, geography…) defended or presented between September 1st, year n-2 and December 31st, year n-1.

The jury will appreciate innovative scientific studies that are of interest to society and the environment, and that contribute to the recognition that the major challenges of water also require skills other than those of hydrology and fluid mechanics. The quality of the work as well as that of the abstract will be among the criteria assessed by the jury. The jury that awards this prize is composed of specialists chosen by the board of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the SHF. It is chaired by the president of this Committee.

* Pierre Massé was president of the SHF from 1952 to 1953. He directed the equipment department at EDF. He was then deputy general manager of EDF, he was general commissioner of the plan at the time when it was an ardent obligation. He has published a lot, in particular a book entitled “The choice of investments”.
